Mack OTA Parameter Updates are Now Unlimited
As one of the pioneers of remote programming, Mack Trucks is once again pushing the limits… by going unlimited. Recently, Mack announced that parameter updates through its over-the-air (OTA) remote programming solution will be unlimited, which is great news for customers looking to increase uptime.
“Mack wanted to make it easier for customers to implement parameter updates since some need to do so on a frequent basis depending upon their specific applications,” said David Pardue, VP of Connected Vehicle and Contract Service for Mack Trucks. By offering unlimited parameter updates, a vehicle’s total cost of ownership, fuel efficiency and productivity will be improved.
Enhancing Uptime in No Time
Parameter updates, which include maximum road speed, multiple idle shutdown parameters and kits, and parameters that control the Mack mDRIVE automated manual transmission, can be implemented quickly and from almost anywhere. Most driver-activated software updates, which enhance product performance, are completed in less than 13 minutes. For driver-activated parameter updates, it usually takes less than one minute. And multiple vehicles can be updated at the same time.
Driver Download Activation Now Standard
For Mack Truck models built after November 30, 2020, the driver download activation feature is factory-equipped. While software retrofits are available for 2019 model year and later Anthem, Pinnacle and Granite models. For the first two years of ownership, Mack OTA is free. Afterward, a subscription is available to extend the service.
